Hosted by Ellie Ajao with panelists Joe McHardy and Emma Arthur, and featuring the Omnium Ensemble, this fast-paced event challenges the canon and celebrates voices too often overlooked. As the day’s finale, Down with the Patribachy redefines what a live podcast can be, inviting audiences into a dynamic fusion of debate, storytelling and music. Under the skilful stewardship of host Ellie Ajao, musicologist Joe McHardy and critic Emma Arthur ignite a spirited dialogue that peels back the layers of Western classical tradition, unearthing the overlooked masterpieces of underrepresented composers. Between their incisive insights and witty exchanges, the Omnium Ensemble breathes life into hidden musical legacies, performing works that challenge the familiar canon and resonate with fresh emotional depth.
