He opens with Nahre Sol’s Shadow Walkers—a dynamic 2025 work that intertwines rhythmic drive with evocative harmonies—before unveiling sonorous transcriptions of Gabriel Fauré’s songs, suffusing the hall with velvet-toned lyricism. Enescu’s Concertstück, commissioned by Fauré in 1906, follows with its graceful, poetic narrative, leading seamlessly into Léon Honnoré’s Morceau de concert, a sparkling Belle Époque gem. The programme culminates in a richly reimagined viola version of César Franck’s beloved Violin Sonata, highlighting the instrument’s warm resonance and nuanced colour palette.
