He then transports you through Liszt’s luminous Alpine panoramas and Schumann’s rich, Romantic depths in one captivating recital.Renowned for his poetic insight and captivating stage presence, Slovenian pianist Alexander Gadjiev invites you on a sonic journey that spans three centuries of repertoire. The evening opens with Haydn’s Piano Sonata in A-flat, its gilded melodies and graceful ornamentation rendered with crystalline clarity. Toru Takemitsu’s meditative soundscapes follow, offering a hushed, introspective calm before Debussy’s L’île joyeuse bursts forth in rippling arpeggios and exotic radiance. In the second half, Gadjiev conjures Liszt’s Swiss panoramas with luminous chords and sweeping cascades, then brings a sense of dramatic warmth to Schumann’s First Piano Sonata, whose lush harmonies and impassioned themes culminate in a stirring Romantic finale. Across each piece, Gadjiev’s masterful touch and interpretive depth illuminate the piano’s full spectrum of colour and emotion.
