Overview
Do you want to discover the highest waterfalls in Europe? Do you want to know how watches are made? Do you want to know why the citizens of Schaffhausen painted the Swiss flag on the rooftop of their houses? Do you want to know why in Medievel Towers the stairs mostly turn by the left side? Do you want to discover the only picturesque village located at the other side of the Rhine river? Then this is the right tour for you.You will leave Zurich in the morning and make your first stop near the city of Schaffhausen, where you will be able to admire the enormous power of the water of the river Rhine falling down before it makes its way towards the sea. Nearby the falls you will visit famous Swiss watch makers, discover the history behind this very popular Swiss industry and learn how watches are made. You will then continue to Schaffhausen, where you will climb a fortress which offers a marvellous view over the old part of town. Take time for some leisure and if you desire, you may have lunch here.In the afternoon you will continue to the most picturesque Swiss village at the other side of the Rhine, which is the only part of Switzerland which was bombarded accidentally during the Second World War, as the Allied Forces thought this was part of Germany, due to its location at the other side of the river. You will admire the beautiful paintings on the walls in the villages' historical centre and stroll by the bank of the Rhine River before making your way back to your private vehicle and driver, which will transfer you back to Zurich.
