The concert opens with the timeless grace of Vivaldi refracted through shimmering percussion textures, then surges into the hypnotic momentum of Steve Reich’s Different Trains. Complementing these cornerstones are bold new works by Albert Schnelzer, Ivan Trevino & Paul Smadbeck and fresh compositions by Glennie herself, alongside a haunting arrangement of Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights and the virtuosic Piazonore by Alexej Gerassimez. From refined Baroque to kinetic modernity, this programme brims with contrast, creativity and pure, unbridled vitality.
