Join 6,000 young voices and Gabrieli’s Baroque ensemble in “Mr Handel’s Christmas Story,” a fresh retelling of the nativity through Handel’s greatest melodies. Experience festive highlights from Messiah and beyond, culminating in a triumphant Hallelujah Chorus.This Christmas, Gabrieli Roar invites you to an extraordinary musical journey in Mr Handel’s Christmas Story. Conceived by Paul McCreesh, this inventive oratorio unites 28 professional Baroque musicians and singers with 6,000 young choristers from 11 cities to weave Handel’s most beloved movements into a seamless narrative of the nativity. The programme blends iconic excerpts from Messiah with re-texted passages from Handel’s other oratorios, unfolding scenes of angelic proclamation, pastoral wonder and the humble manger. The evening reaches its peak in a breathtaking, full-ensemble Hallelujah Chorus, as London’s youth choirs join Gabrieli’s full orchestra and voices in a radiant celebration of Christmas.
