A Turning Leaf brings together cellist Matthew Barley, pianist Mishka Rushdie Momen, The Purcell Singers and Royal Ballet soloists in a transcendent evening of reflection.In an age of ceaseless pace, Sanctuary invites you to pause and immerse yourself in an evening of sacred reflection. Within the soft glow of candlelight, the resonant cello of Matthew Barley and the expressive piano of Mishka Rushdie Momen intertwine with the pure, soaring voices of The Purcell Singers, tracing a path through the austere spirituality of Arvo Pärt, the intricate counterpoint of J.S. Bach, the daring silence of John Cage and beyond. Between each musical tableau, soloists from The Royal Ballet emerge, their lithe forms echoing the programme’s themes of stillness, metamorphosis and wonder. Let each movement and melody become a collective act of listening, imagination and renewal—a sanctuary for body and soul.
