Celebrate their 40th anniversary in this emotionally charged launch concert of their new recording.Discover Monteverdi’s monumental 1610 Vespers reimagined by I Fagiolini in a concert that strips away the familiar to uncover fresh sonic brilliance. Underpinned by the English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble and a complement of baroque strings, the performance pairs the ensemble’s celebrated soloists with the resonant power of cornetts, the mellow depth of sackbutts, and the warm embrace of gut-string instruments. From the prayerful intimacy of the psalm settings to the resplendent choruses of the Gloria, every phrase shimmers with filigree ornamentation and emotional intensity. Celebrating their 40th anniversary and launching a new recording set for release in September 2026 as part of the Memory Unwrapped series, this approximately two-hour event (including an interval) promises an unforgettable journey into the raw beauty of early Italian sacred music.
