Though one of the earliest sound films, it originally played without musical accompaniment – until Grammy-nominated composer Michael Shapiro was commissioned in 2001 to craft a stirring score that elevates Whale's gothic vision into a fully immersive theatrical experience. Shapiro's music surges beneath every frame, from the creature's first awakening to the film's heart-wrenching denouement, weaving a haunting emotional landscape that tugs at the soul. After more than seventy-five sold-out performances across the globe, this award-winning collaboration arrives at Cadogan Hall for its London premiere, led by Shapiro himself on the conductor's podium with the world-famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
