Programme
Overview
Dive into a feast of French musical fantasy: Saint-Saëns’ ‘Egyptian’ Piano Concerto meets Chausson’s ecstatic Poème under Alain Altinoglu’s inspired baton. Experience moonlit Nile visions and sunlit sea-spirals brought to life by pianist Lucas Krupinski and mezzo-soprano Nora Gubisch.Embark on a luminous journey where French music unfolds as shimmering poetry. Conductor Alain Altinoglu leads the orchestra through Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 5, the ‘Egyptian,’ evoking the bustle of a Nile cruise—sunlight flickering on the water, distant frog choruses and the desert breeze in every phrase. Before this voyage, mezzo-soprano Nora Gubisch brings Chausson’s Poème to vivid life: imagine waves hurling into the sun’s embrace, their foam glinting on soft sands as her voice soars. Together, these works weave a tapestry of radiant color and dreamy reverie, a truly French feast for the imagination.
